UX4Good met unspoken professional need

Jay Yearly’s blog on ChicagoNow.com explores the various ways the city’s residents use social media. This week, he wrote about our UX4Good event, arguing that the gathering met an unrecognized need in Chicago’s tech community:

This goes to show that Chicago technology enthusiasts care more than about creating User Experience ideas just for profit. At times they actually want to use their skills to make the world a better place. … This event seems to fill an un-met need in an environment where very creative and talented people can interact with each other to solve challenges faced in Chicago…

We couldn’t agree more. People want to do good not just by giving away money or “liking” a cause on Facebook, but by applying the skills and talents they have honed for years in their professional lives. The Insights Labs are dedicated to continuing to providing those opportunities not just for techies, but for people from all walks of life.
